TENIS10 RULES

In force from October 22, 2026.

For adult competitions, see the Sportya Rules.

These Rules apply to the Tenis10 competitions published on Sportya.net, in the Tenis10 section, and to everyone who takes part in them: the children, their parents, the people accompanying them and the organizing clubs. The parent account, payments and personal data are governed by the Sportya.net Terms and Conditions, Return Policy and Privacy Statement. The Sportya Rules, written for adult players, do not apply to Tenis10 competitions.

1. The Tenis10 system

Tenis10 is the tennis competition programme for children developed by Media Production Group S.R.L. (“MPG”), based on the principles of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Tennis Play & Stay campaign: the court, the net, the ball and the racket are adapted to the child's age, so that children take up tennis and stay in the sport. From October 26, 2026, Tenis10 runs on the Sportya.net platform, which replaces the tenis10.ro website. The children's history from tenis10.ro (tournaments, matches, podiums) has been taken over by Sportya.

1.1. The player

A Tenis10 player is a child who, on December 31 of the current year, is at least 4 and at most 15 years old. Age is counted only by the year of birth (the current year minus the year of birth; for example, in 2026, a child born in 2016 is 10 years old). The child has no account of their own and does not sign in to Sportya. The child takes part through a child profile, added and managed by the parent in the parent's Sportya account (point 1.2). To play in a competition, the child needs an active Tenis10 Passport (point 1.3). The child leaves Tenis10 on January 1 of the year in which they turn 16 and can continue in Sportya, with their own Sportya account, in adult competitions, under the Sportya Rules. The parent starts the move by sending the young person an invitation, and the Tenis10 history moves to the young person's account. The Tenis10 Passport remains valid until December 31 and is not refunded.

1.2. The parent

The child's legal representative, called “the parent” in these Rules, is the holder of the Sportya account that contains the child's profile. Only the parent can add the profile and register the child for competitions, directly or through the organizing club (point 2.4). By adding the profile, the parent declares that they hold this capacity and that they manage, on the child's behalf, the child's data, registrations, withdrawals and payments. The parent can add a child profile on their own while the account has fewer than 4 children. If they need more profiles, they can ask for the limit to be extended at contact@sportya.net. Children taken over from tenis10.ro are claimed through the invitation received by email, without this limit. The child's name, gender, date of birth, town and level are filled in when the profile is added. After that, only Sportya corrects them, at the parent's request sent to contact@sportya.net. The parent is responsible for the child's health and fitness to play, and makes sure that the child is accompanied by an adult at every tournament.

1.3. The Tenis10 Passport

The Tenis10 Passport is a child's annual right to take part in Tenis10 competitions. It is bought for each child separately and is valid until December 31 of the year for which it was bought. The price is the one shown on Sportya.net at the time of purchase. The passport is activated: a) by the parent, from their account, by card or from the Virtual Wallet, separately or together with the child's registration for a competition; b) on a registration made by the organizing club or by Sportya: automatically, from the parent's Virtual Wallet, if it covers the amount; otherwise, the club activates it with payment at the club (point 2.4). The next year's passport goes on sale once its price is published on Sportya.net. If bought before the current passport expires, it extends the validity until December 31 of the following year. Once the next year's passport is on sale, the parent receives notifications in their account and by email before expiry (30 days, 7 days and one day before) and at expiry, on January 1. These notifications are not sent for a child who turns 16 in the following year. Passport refunds follow the Sportya Return Policy.

1.4. The levels of play

Tenis10 has four levels of play, named after the colour of the ball. Each level has a maximum age, counted on December 31 of the year:

LevelMaximum ageCourtNetBallRacket
Red8 years11 × 5–6 m80 cm75% depressurised41–58 cm
Orange9 years18 × 6.5–8.23 m80–91 cm50% depressurised58–63 cm
Green10 years23.77 × 8.23 m91 cm25% depressurised63–68 cm
Yellow15 years23.77 × 8.23 m91 cmstandardsuited to the child

The parent chooses the level when adding the profile, from the levels suited to the child's age. We recommend that this choice, like any later change, be made together with the coach. After the profile is added, only Sportya changes the level, at the parent's request sent to contact@sportya.net, if the new level suits the child's age. A child moved up to a higher level can go back to the previous level, at the parent's request, if they have played at most two tournaments at the higher level. For example, a child moved from Orange to Green can go back to Orange if they have not played more than two tournaments at Green. This is the recommendation Sportya applies to all children. In exceptional cases, Sportya may accept the return after more tournaments too, based on specific and complete reasons sent by the coach and the parent (for example, after a serious injury or an illness that kept the child away from the court for a long time). On January 1, a child who has gone past the maximum age of their level moves automatically to the first level suited to their age. The parent is notified in their account and by email.

1.5. The age categories

Each competition has a level and an age category. The category is set by the age the child reaches by December 31 of the year in which the competition starts: • U8, U9, U10 and U12: at most 8, 9, 10 and 12 years old respectively; • U14: 13 or 14 years old; • Open: under 16, with no other limit. Red is played at U8, Orange at U9, Green at U10, and Yellow at U12, U14 or Open.

2. The competition system

2.1. The tournaments

The Tenis10 competition system includes the tournaments published on Sportya.net in the Tenis10 section, organized by partner clubs under these Rules.

2.2. Types of tournament

Depending on the number of participants, the club's facilities, prizes and visibility, tournaments are Silver, Gold or Platinum. Sportya also organizes the Champions Tournaments and the Super Champions Tournament. The type is shown on the tournament page. The qualification criteria for the Champions Tournament and the Super Champions Tournament may differ from one season to another and are announced on the page of each event when it is published on Sportya.net.

2.3. The competitions

A tournament has one or more competitions, each for one level, one age category and, where applicable, one gender (girls only or boys only). A child can be registered for a competition only if they have exactly its level, their age falls within its age category and, in a competition reserved for one gender, their gender matches. Children do not play at a level higher than the one in their profile. In a tournament, a child plays in only one competition. A child can take part in any number of tournaments. Tenis10 tournaments award no points and have no overall ranking. The results of each tournament (groups, draws, winners) are published on Sportya.net. Sportya may also produce other rankings suited to children, for example activity rankings, without changing the aim of Tenis10: to motivate children to play tennis without the pressure of classic points-based rankings.

2.4. Registration

Only children with an active Tenis10 Passport take part in competitions. The parent can also buy it during registration, and on a registration made by the club it is paid together with the registration. Registration is made on Sportya.net: a) by the parent, from their account, on the competition page (“Register a child”); b) by the organizing club, from its application (SportyaOS), at the parent's request. The Sportya Service Fee and, if the child has no active passport, the Tenis10 Passport are paid at registration: • on a registration made by the parent: from the Sportya Virtual Wallet or by card, as the parent chooses; • on a registration made by the organizing club or by Sportya: automatically, from the parent's Virtual Wallet, if it covers the full amount; otherwise, at the club. By accepting these Rules, the parent agrees that, when the organizing club or Sportya registers the child, the registration amount and, if the passport is missing, the passport price are taken automatically from the parent's Virtual Wallet. Registrations open and close on the dates shown on the tournament page. Places are filled in order of registration (first come, first served). When the draw is full, registration continues on the waiting list. In one week (Monday to Sunday), a child can be registered, in the draw or on the waiting list, for at most one weekend competition and at most one weekday competition. A competition's week is given by the day the tournament starts. A registration is complete when the parent receives the confirmation in their account and by email, and the child appears on the list of registered children (the main list or the waiting list) on the competition page.

2.5. Late registration. The waiting list. Replacement

When a child on the main list withdraws before the draw, the place goes automatically to the first child on the waiting list, and that child's parent is notified. After the draw, a child can be added only by the organizer, on the organizer's responsibility, as a rule to balance the groups and without creating a new group. If a child in the draw does not show up, the tournament director can replace them with a child from the waiting list who has an active passport. The added or replacing child must meet all the technical rules of the competition: the level, the age category and, in a competition reserved for one gender, the gender (point 2.3).

2.6. Publication of the draws, the programme and the results

The draw is made without seeds. The tournament programme (times, match formats, groups and awards) is published on the tournament page no later than 12:00 on the Friday before the tournament, or on the Thursday if the tournament starts on a Friday. Groups, draws, results and winners contain the children's names and are visible only to signed-in Sportya users. Once the competition has started, parents follow the match schedule, and the tournament director keeps them informed accurately and on time. Results are published on Sportya.net as they are entered. Errors are reported to contact@sportya.net within 7 days of publication; after this period, the results are final.

2.7. Withdrawal

The parent can withdraw the child online, from the competition page, from “My Events” or from the child's profile: from the main list, until the deadline shown on the event page; from the waiting list, at any time until the competition starts. Before confirmation, Sportya shows what happens to the fees, under the Return Policy. After this date, the withdrawal is announced to the tournament director as early as possible, so that it affects the competition schedule as little as possible. The tournament director's contact details are shown on the competition page. A withdrawn child can be registered again while registrations are open and places remain. For a no-show without notice, the organizing club may suspend the child's right to take part in its tournaments, and the Sportya administrator may suspend it for all Tenis10 tournaments. The parent is notified beforehand.

3. How tournaments are run

3.1. Competition format. Playing system

Tenis10 competitions have a compact format: under normal conditions, a competition lasts at most 3–4 hours, and each child plays several short matches or fewer, longer ones. In the first phase, children play in groups, each child against every other child in the group. The size of the groups is set by the number of participants. In the second phase, the top-placed children in each group play in a knockout draw, possibly with a third-place match. Without a knockout phase, the winners are decided by the group standings. The match formats are: tiebreak to 7 or to 10 points, best of 3 tiebreaks, best of 3, 5 or 7 games, normal set. The format of each competition, including whether it is played with a deciding point or with a two-point lead, is published together with the tournament programme. Group standings are based on the number of wins. When two children are level, their head-to-head match decides. When three or more are level, the following decide, in order, across all group matches: set difference (when matches are played in sets), point difference and the number of points won. When a criterion separates one child from the others, the two still level are separated by their head-to-head match. In a complete tie, drawing lots or another method set by the organizer decides, for example a play-off match. In unforeseen situations (many withdrawals, bad weather), the organizer may change the format on site.

3.2. Check-in. Fees

Registered children report at the check-in time in the programme, accompanied by an adult, to the organizing club's check-in area. A registration has two fees, shown on the competition page: a) the Sportya Service Fee, for the platform's digital services; it is paid at registration (point 2.4) and may be 0; b) the club's participation fee, set by the club; it is paid directly to the club, at the tournament. Sportya does not collect it and does not refund it. In exceptional situations, the full participation fee and the Tenis10 Passport fee may be collected by the club, directly at the event.

3.3. Supervision. Refereeing

The organizing club appoints representatives to supervise the groups. We recommend one supervisor for each group at the Red and Orange levels, and at least one supervisor for every two courts at the Green and Yellow levels. Supervisors do not have to be professional referees; they are club representatives trained in the Tenis10 playing principles. Children referee their own matches; a child who does not yet know the scoring system may be helped by the supervisor, so they learn the rules as easily as possible. The organizer ensures the matches run properly and records the results. Depending on the number of matches, the organizer may split them into several sessions and announces the results in the break between sessions. In conflicts between players, the organizer steps in to resolve them. The organizer enters the results in the organizer's application (SportyaOS), from where they reach Sportya.net.

3.4. Weather conditions

In bad weather (very high temperatures, rain), the tournament director may suspend or postpone matches. The parent may withdraw the child from play at any time if they consider that the child's condition or the weather does not allow play to continue.

4. Conduct

Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children and of the people accompanying them. At the tournament venue, children, parents and accompanying persons behave in a civil and sporting manner, and children wear kit suitable for a sports competition. Breaches of conduct or of these Rules, by children or by accompanying persons, may lead to a warning, removal from the competition or, in serious cases, suspension of the right to take part, decided by the organizing club for its own tournaments or by the Sportya administrator for all Tenis10 tournaments. By registering the child, the parent accepts these Rules and the ITF Rules of Tennis and undertakes to comply with them, together with the child and the people accompanying the child.

5. Health, liability and image

5.1. Organization. Each tournament is organized by the organizing club, which is responsible for running it, for the courts and for the safety of the premises. Sportya.net publishes the tournaments and manages registrations, passports and results. 5.2. Health. The parent is responsible for the child's health and fitness for physical effort. We recommend regular medical check-ups. 5.3. Information on Sportya. Information published on Sportya.net about tournaments and about other children (lists, draws, results) is used only for taking part in Tenis10. 5.4. Photos and videos. Photos and videos may be taken at tournaments, including of the children, to present the results and promote Tenis10 on Sportya.net and on the Tenis10 social media pages. The circuit's partners may also use them to promote their association with Tenis10. Their processing is described in the Privacy Statement. The parent may object at any time, at contact@sportya.net, and the child's images already published are removed on request.

6. Changes to these Rules

MPG and its collaborators directly involved in organizing and coordinating the events may change these Rules. The version in force is published on Sportya.net, with the date of the last update. Changes with a direct impact on the account or on the benefits offered through the account are announced to parents, in their account and by email, before they come into force. Questions about these Rules can be sent to contact@sportya.net.
